A missing tooth or teeth can spoil your smile, and make eating and speaking difficult. Choose from the different options available here!
An excellent way of replacing a missing tooth or teeth is a new artificial tooth attached to an implant. An implant is like an artificial tooth root, and is placed into the jaw bone where a tooth has been lost. One or more implants can be done depending on the space size. An artificial tooth is attached to the implant after the required healing time (usually a few months).
Treatment takes between six to twelve months to complete. You will need to check with your dentist to see if an implant is the right option for you, as not everyone has the right jaw structure for this treatment.
A bridge is an artificial tooth supported by the teeth on either side of the space. The dentist prepares your teeth on either side of the gap, and takes a mould which is sent to a dental technician. The dental technician makes the complete structure, using porcelain (for appearance) and a metal core (for strength). The dentist then places the bridge into your mouth. Bonded bridges that do not require shaping of the neighbouring teeth are sometimes used.
Stronger materials are necessary for bridges used in back teeth. Your dentist may use an all-metal, gold bridge for this. A bridge is a long term, very attractive way of helping you fill the gap.
ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Root canal therapy is done for salvaging infected teeth permanently. A simple procedure is done with little or no discomfort, performed in either single visit or multi visits. Root canal treatment is a dental procedure in which the infected or damaged pulp of a tooth is removed and the inside areas are filled and sealed.
Root canal treatment saves teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted. The most common cause of pulp infection is a cracked tooth or a deep cavity. Both of these problems can let bacteria enter the pulp and cause an infection inside the tooth. If not treated, pus builds up at the root tip in the jawbone forming a “pus-pocket” called an abscess, which can cause damage to the bone around the teeth.
There is no preparation required for root canal treatment. Once the tooth is opened to drain, the dentist may prescribe an antibiotic. With the infection under control, local anaesthetic is more effective, so that the root canal treatment may be performed without discomfort.
